Greek American Sports Update

By Nick Tsiotos

⭐Diamantis and Evangeline Zervos Honored at Fenway Park ⭐

Diamantis “Adam” Zervos the distinguished author of Baseball’s Golden Greeks, and his wife Evangeline Zervos, book editor were honored on Greek Heritage Night at Fenway Park. Zervos chronicled Greek professional Major League Baseball players from 1934 to 1974 and their impact on American society as well. Zervos spent five years researching, writing, and conducting interviews. His interviews were with  players, teammates, family members, and legends of Major League Baseball. His research was so thorough that he was able to trace back each player’s intricate Hellenic ancestral roots. Zervos’ engaging book is a treasure for the Greek American Community and we hope that a new generation will be inspired by his great achievement.

The Alpha Omega Council hosted the 10th annual Greek Heritage Night with the Boston Red Sox on June 2nd, at Fenway Park attended by 3,000  proud and loud members of the Greek-American community of New England. Fans wearing Greek American Red Sox shirts enjoyed an evening filled of Greek Dance, KEFI, friendship, and Hellenic community spirit. The Alpha Omega Council leadership brought together many organizations that joined together cheering as the Red Sox faced the Baltimore Orioles.
